The Resurection - KLZE Turbo is Born
Well as promised here is the first part of my project.
Sorry for the english, but Its easier for me and I think its also good for our Non Dutch speaking friends.
08-08: As most of you allready know, I had a nitrous explosion under the hood in Germany during the Donky meet. At that time we thought the engine had serious damage as Donky himself carried a compresion test and it clearly showed that only two of the 5 cylinders tested (could not reach the 6th) we're still ok. When we got the car back to Jeroentje's garage we took a quick look under the hood before we started taking the engine out.

The engine was out within a couple of hours really, so now it was just a question of waiting for the new engine to arrive in 7 to days......This was taking too long so I decided to go ahead and modify all the parts that I could still use from my blown engine. But first I would give the engine bay some attention, so I decided to re spray it.
09-08: The lower half was coated with Tactyl, to help combat the damaged caused by the salt chrystals they spray on the roads in the winter. The upper half was sprayed with an Enamel like paint special for metal that has a very hard finish.

11-08: I decided to try and repair the damaged throttle body and Intake.
The Butterfly (klep) in the TB was folded back by 90 degrees in the explosion, so I had to get that and straighten it all out as well as both Vris valves which we're also folded back.
Here's a foto of the TB while the inside id being polished.

The fule rails under went similar treatment, another set of rails will be machined so I can use nissan injectors to go above 10psi.

14-08: The gearbox unr goes reconstruction and make over :-)

15-08: I started attacking the Intake manifold today, the casting on this thing is the owrst I have ever seen, sometimes up to 1cm difference between one side and another.

The Intake was also port matched. The inside of the runners are grinded open until they match the ports on the cylinder heads (these have also been made bigger), you can easily gain 0.5cm per side making the runners 1cm wider aswell as higher increasing the intake capacity and better flow.

And after a bit of hard work it all comes together........

Tomorrow I will continue with the topic, but for now here is something to keep you going....

16-08: Today we started taking the engine appart, to my great surprise all the valves looked ok aswell as all the cylinders and pistons, in fact the cylinder walls still have the factory finish, not even one single scratch on the walls.

Seeing as I was going to re use my engine I started work Porting and polishing all the intake ports here you can see one of the heads during the rebuild.
